Let me go a bit more in depth; To start out I learnt about embedded wires on the mobo are called traces(not be confused with the magnetic flux drives, or the runs) These traces make up the buses of the system, The layers of the printed circuits, The mobo is a printed circuit board [PCB] 4+ layers thick currently. Why do you want more layers ? Because you end up with a smaller card.
One last tid bit of info here, In 1980's IBM manufactured the first AT form factor; The number one inherit problem with the first AFF was the fact that it only had two dedicated connections for the keyboard and the mouse. Of course naturally with time and evolution we needed more Connections, Which then leads me to say there was variations I will not go too far into the two variations but here they are NLX and LPX.
So I hope someone out there gains some information or intelligence from my blog.
