In the past week of my course, I learnt many  many things.
The most important would have to be about hard drives; Mainly how they work with magnetic actuator arms; And how the hard drives have a parking spot for the actuator arm.
In the past the actuator arms were connected to stepping motors.
One of the downfalls to these were the heat it would corrupt data, Now they are equipped with linear motors with voice coils.
 The linear motors increase accuracy of the actuator arm.
I know to the average person this is not very usefull but to me this is very good information.
